One of the closest Columbia River tributaries for the Vancouver Metro area, the North Fork Lewis is a beautiful destination for both Anglers and kayakers. It’s a relatively easy float many days of the year. It’s important to always check the river levels before floating this river. As with any dam controlled waterway, river levels can change drastically without warning. You can find real-time river level information here.
Bank anglers and beach lovers have a few choices, however the majority of the land access to the Lewis is private property.
The best time of year to fish the Lewis is the summer and fall for both Coho salmon and summer Steelhead. The winter and spring also have angling opportunities available for Spring Chinook and Winter Steelhead.
Each week I provide a fishing report for this river and others in SW Washington. You can sign up for a complimentary report at The Guides Forecast. Inexpensive subscriptions are also available for an in-depth report each week.
If you are a bank angler and new to fishing the Lewis the chart below should help. If you are interested in a fishing and recreational property in our area, please text “fishing” to 360-763-0387.
